Return Camper Aviva Nachman, age 16, from Montclair, NJ, USA has been coming to Appel Farm for 2 years, and is coming to First Session this summer!

  • What are your favorite Majors or Minors? Technical Theater, Rock Band, Recording Arts, and Songwriting
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? The people are the best in the WHOLE WORLD!
  • What is one thing your camp friends don’t know about you? I never perform at home.
  • What is something that you are proud you’ve done this year since camp? I got a letter of recommendation to a film program from the cinematographer from Breaking Bad.

Return Camper Simone Griffith, age 13, from Far Rockaway, NY, USA has been coming to Appel Farm for 1 year, and we hope she will return to Camp 2014!

  • What are your favorite Majors or Minors? Photography, Tap, and Jazz Dance
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? The special events, healthy food, and my bunkmates
  • What is one thing your camp friends don’t know about you? I dance on a competition team.
  • What is something that you are proud you’ve done this year since camp? I developed my photos in the dark room.

Return Camper Ben Brown-McMillan, age 16, from West Windsor, NJ, USA has been coming to Appel Farm for 5 years and is coming to our 8-Week Session this summer!

  • What are your favorite Majors or Minors? Theater Performance and Rock Band
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? The people I meet there
  • What is one thing your camp friends don’t know about you? My middle name is Eli.
  • What is something that you are proud you’ve done this year since camp? I have met musicians in my school.

Staff Member Fay Hughes from Collingswood, NJ, US, has a BA in History and B Mus Ed in Public School Teaching from The College of Wooster. Fay was a camper at Appel Farm from 1998-2002, and we are thrilled to welcome her back!

  • What is your role at camp this summer? Wind, Woodwind, and Brass Instructor, and Bunk Counselor
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? How open and welcoming the community is.
  • What is one thing you are excited about doing at camp? Meeting the campers and making music together.
  • What is one thing campers don’t know about you? I am a huge Trekker.  Seriously, don’t get me started, I can talk your ear off.
  • What is something interesting that you do when you are not at camp? The rest of the year I am a tour director for student tour groups.
  • What are three things you are passionate about? Travel, history, and music
