And, now, introducing…

Camper Parent Amanda Glynn, from West Allenhurst, NJ, USA is new to the Appel Farm family! Her daughter Ginny is coming to Second Session this summer!

  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? How kind the staff was to Ginny on our tour!
  • Why did you choose Appel Farm for your family? Ginny is so interested in exploring the arts – this camp was MADE for her!
  • If you could come to camp this summer, what classes would you take? Acting, Tennis, and Photography

Staff Member Mateusz Misiak from Bytom, Slaskie, Poland, has Bachelors and Masters degrees in percussion from Karol Lipinski Academy of Music.

  • What is your role at camp this summer? Percussion Instructor and Bunk Counselor
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? Working with people from around the world.
  • What is one thing you are excited about doing at camp? Working with kids at different ages and from different countries.
  • What is one thing campers don’t know about you? I’m a very patient person.
  • What is something interesting that you do when you are not at camp? I like planning and organizing new challenges and ideas.
  • What are three things you are passionate about? Music, Travelling, Sports

Staff Member Jacob Blizard, from Richmond, VA, USA, is studying Classical Guitar Performance and Music Theory, with a Music History minor, at Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

  • What is your role at camp this summer? Guitar Instructor and Bunk Counselor
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? This is my first year at Appel Farm but I’m excited to join what seems like a caring and welcoming community!
  • What is one thing you are excited about doing at camp? Hearing talented young musicians!
  • What is one thing campers don’t know about you? I am basically an 80-year old woman. That is, I love opera and classical music and I like to cook and I like to wake up early.
  • What is something interesting that you do when you are not at camp? I spend a lot of time practicing the guitar and a good amount of time cooking for the co-op that I am a part of at Oberlin.
  • What are three things you are passionate about? Good people, good music, good food

Staff Member David Valdez from Tampa, FL, USA, is an MFA Candidate in Theatre Management from Florida State University and has a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Florida.

  • What is your role at camp this summer? Theater Director, Acting Instructor, Transportation Director, among others…
  • What is one of your favorite things about Appel Farm? So far, the community feels and support I have received through the interview process.
  • What is one thing you are excited about doing at camp? I am really excited to get back to the reason I first got into theatre: the classroom. I am excited to create and explore!
  • What is one thing campers don’t know about you? I’m terrible at learning lines and lyrics.
  • What is something interesting that you do when you are not at camp? I love to travel and experience new places. I hope to visit all fifty states eventually!
  • What are three things you are passionate about? Equality, Excitement, and Letting Your Freak Flag Fly
