Happy Fourth of July! It was a super fun day at camp today. We had our majors and minors as usual, but the afternoon was full of fun festivities for Independence Day!  Though we were not able to be home with our families for the holiday, we certainly made up for it with a bunch of fun activities. Campers always get very excited for the Fourth of July Parade, which probably has something to do with the candy that the counselors throw out of their cars as they parade around camp. The parade was complete with a band, and at the end the Counselors in Training set up some booths with face painting, fortune telling, and temporary tattoos.

After the parade we had our World Fair Campfire, where we celebrate the great countries that some of our staff are from, or even some that are made up. This summer our counselors represented Croatia, England, Australia, Puerto Rico, Haiti, China, Mississippi, Thailand, and Geektopia. Each country had an area set up for campers to participate in activities that are native to that land. Mississippi served sweet tea, campers learned a Hatian dance, and some even tried Vegemite at the Australian table. Take a look at the photos from today to see all of the fun our campers had!
