Tonight was super exciting, as we had our first Friday Night Concert of second session! This is a night of performances by campers who are eager to show us just how exceptionally talented they are. We had an entire bunk from Hill perform a dance number, a cute duet by Izzy and Kennedy, a ukulele solo by Violet, a dance by Kaylin, and a rock band with the guys of bunks 25 & 26. It was great to see everyone come out of their shell and onto the stage, and we can’t wait to see who will sign up for the next one!
We also had some great activities today during Afternoon Free Choice. Afternoon Art is always an option for campers who need a creative outlet after their classes. Today we made some interesting paintings using ‘watercolor bubbles’ (dish soap + watercolors). Take a look at the photos to see how they turned out! Some campers also beat the heat by going swimming in the pool, and others got innovative by playing in some sprinklers that were set up in the grass.
Instead of Majors today, we had our Department Trips. Each camper gets to choose one of their majors to go off camp with. Our photographers went to Philadelphia for some awesome street photography opportunities, theater tech went to the Walnut Street Theater, the dancers learned ballroom dancing, and our video students got a tour of a local newsroom. Tomorrow it is majors & minors as usual, but today was a nice break and a good opportunity to get some real-world experiences in the classes we enjoy at camp.
