We shook things up with our classes today and invited some fun guests to experience life at Appel Farm! Our in-reach program took place during majors, and a few community groups came to camp and joined in on our classes to take part in the fun that our campers experience everyday. Some of them made cyanotypes in the sun with photography and senior citizens learned some moves in the dance studio. Other groups got to see the talent that our musicians bring to camp, and others played some theater games! It was great to have guests here to share the fun with and remind ourselves of the reason why we come to camp every year.
Tonight we also have a lot of fun workshops to participate in. These are a bit different from our department workshops, as counselors gather together as a group and teach the campers about things that they are interested in that they don’t usually teach in classes. This time around we have Appel Farm famous Golf Ball, chess at the dining hall, a book-binding workshop, theater games, jam sessions for musicians, campfire cooing and even a spartan obstacle course! There are even more options, and it seems like it will be hard to choose between all of them! Stay tuned tomorrow for photos from all the workshop.
