Spirit week is still going strong! Today was crazy hair day. It was so much fun seeing how the campers could transform their hair into some wacky shapes and styles. Some dyed their hair with washable spray (with permission), braided strands into cat ears, went crazy with hair gel, or got creative with lop-sided buns and ponytails.
Some of us couldn’t wear our hair too crazy today though because it is still performance week! In the morning we got a chance to watch campers dance in hip-hop, ballet, vogue, and contemporary styles to name a few. We also got to see a performance from the tumbling class. I’m the evening, we witnessed back to back performances (with a dinner break in between) filled with music and singing. We heard songs from artists like Avril Levine, Ed Sheeran, and music from The Incredibles and The Final Countdown.
We all cheered so loud for our friends and even teared up a little bit because of how proud we were of everyone. It’s truly amazing to see how much someone can grow in such a short period of time with the love and support shown from our teachers, counselors, and friends here at Appel Farm!
Tomorrow, our visual artists get to “perform” and shine under the spotlight. We’re all looking forward to seeing some amazing drawings, sculptures, pottery, and photography created by some amazing people. We’ll also have a Theater Art + Technology Show & a Sports & Swim video showing and a performance of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” Check out the schedule below and join us at the art galleries and the theater for our final performances!
