Today was an exciting day for our campers! We started the day with our department trips, a day when campers have the opportunity to travel off camp with a department to explore new places. The music department had a guest artist come to camp, named Leon Jordan Sr., who works with Musicopia. Musicopia provides opportunities for children to experience, learn, perform, and appreciate music. The sport & swim department, along with art & tech, went to Parvin State Park, where they kayaked and canoed while the art & tech campers shot videos. Technical theater stayed on camp and had a staging competition, each group choose different props, costumes, and lighting for a scene. The workshops taught them how small details can change how the audience perceives a scene. Creative writing, theater, and the photo department participated in the Guerilla Haiku Project and wrote haikus while visiting Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. Also, the visual arts department went to Wheaton Village to watch a glass blowing demonstration. Finally, the dance department went to Glassboro to practice their ballroom dancing skills!
In the afternoon we resumed minors as normal, which means this has been full day of fun! Tonight we had our first Friday Night Concert, all of the campers who performed were amazing. Don’t forget to follow the link HERE to see photos from today’s on camp activities and minors!
