We had our last majors and minors of Session 2 today.  With the abundance of performances and extra busy schedules, we freed up our last couple days of camp by wrapping up classes today.  Although it will be sad not to go to our classes on Wednesday, we all learned and grew so much because of our fantastic majors and minors, and the instructors who helped us along the way!  The next couple days will be filled up with a bunch of tech rehearsals, preparation for the visual arts showcase, workshops, and some relaxing free time.
Today we got to see the daring campers from our horseback riding minor, which was awesome because we got to see them stand up on the horse, ride backwards, and more! After that we watched the minor showcase, where our campers showed us what they’ve been working on after rest hour for the past 3 weeks. There was some awesome improv comedy, amazingly talented singing from the musical theater minor, a violin duet, excerpts from our 10-minute plays, and even a stage combat demonstration!
After dinner we had the pleasure of heading to the theater to see the musical, The Me Nobody Knows. It was a very powerful performance by our amazingly talented campers. The songs were incredible, and would not have been as impactful if it weren’t for the incredible pit band that played the music in the background. The singing by the actors was breathtaking, and the set design by our tech theater campers was impeccable. Tomorrow should be an exciting day, as we’ll get to see the play God, Man, and Devil, as well as the music concerts. Stay tuned to see photos from the performances.
