Apples to Appels

Appel Farm’s unofficial Official Camp Game: Apples to Apples!

Before everyone else in the world knew about the game Appels to Appels, Appel Farmers had been playing it at camp for centuries…well, close. We love it for so many reasons, but mostly because it’s not very competitive, you get ahead by being creative, and it can be played perfectly at our cozy green picnic tables.

Here’s how you play:

Important Info: There are two kinds of cards in this game: Red appel cards have nouns (people, places, things) on the front. Green appel cards have adjectives (describing words) on the front.

It’s as easy as comparing “apples to apples!”  Just open the box, deal 7 red cards to each player, and you’re ready to play! Select the red appel card from your hand that you think is best described by the green appel card played by the “judge” (one of the players). If the judge picks your card, you win that round.  And everyone gets a chance to be the judge!

Check out this video to watch how to play and learn how this game is not just for your friends.

P.S. Sorry, Mattel, I just can’t spell appel the right way…probably because “I’ve got my appel inside me forever.”

We played this afternoon! If you were the Judge, which card do you think matches MAGICAL the best?
